The 2nd annual Waterfront Awards presented by Waterfront Magazine, celebrating outstanding women in the Toronto community, took place on July 19th 2019 at the Globe and Mail Centre. Guests gathered on the 17th floor before the awards ceremony to see the amazing talent lineup, including live painting by Angela Kim, live drawing from caricaturist Jennifer, musical performances from Elsa Hseih, Linda O’Conner, Angela Johnson and many, many more. As guests were dazzled, they were able to taste food from Scotthill Caribbean Cuisine, Marty G. Sensations and Chateau Le Jardin to name a few. The most notable award of the evening went to the honourable Jean Augustine, who had guests in tears as she spoke of how much society had changed to even allow a woman of colour such as herself to win such a prestigious award. In total twenty-nine women were celebrated for their outstanding achievement in the Greater Toronto area. The evening concluded with dancing, as guests were able to watch the beautiful sunset on the terrace.
