A night of fashion, food and fun took place on June 19th at Square One in Missisauga. The rotund of Square One was transformed into a beautiful fashion show viewing area, with the Genesis G70 car of the year at the back for photobooth opportunities. Special guests included Italian comedy legend Ezio Greggio; the president of the Italian Cinema Academy, Piera Detassis; and Toronto’s very own fashion legend Jeanne Beker, who said a few words on stage. Adrian Arneiri, Ever New Melbourne, Maska Moda, Massimo Dutti and Holt Renfrew were the fashion designers walking for the evening. Between each fashion show, guests were entertained with Italian film featurettes including the advertisement for Prada Candy perfume and the trailer for the film The Secret Life of Flowers directed by Baz Luhrman. Guests left the event certain of the relationship between Italian fashion and film, and how fashion culture would be defunct without the influence of Italian designers.
